Our Business

Council’s Brisbane Infrastructure Division (BI) brings together Council's asset management, infrastructure planning, design, project management, construction, services, maintenance and transport operations activities. Being Host City for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Brisbane Infrastructure has a central role in shaping and preparing the City for the Games over the coming years. 

Our Branch

Major Projects is responsible for the planning and delivery of Council’s high profile and complex projects in collaboration with our Council partners.

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​These city shaping projects are critical for the growth and development of Brisbane and have complex stakeholder engagements, design, and delivery arrangements.

Current major programs of work include Brisbane Metro, Bridges for Brisbane, Residual Waste Treatment, and Victoria Park.

The Role 

The Principal Planner Scheduler provides program management support in the planning, scheduling, and control of projects to ensure the successful delivery of the Major Projects program of works.

Working in a small highly professional team reporting to the Principal Portfolio Officer, this role will work closely with Program Directors and Senior Management to provide timely information and expert advice on Council’s key projects.

You will connect regularly with project managers, program owners, and various stakeholders across Council to lead, support, and enhance the program planning and scheduling function.

About You

Major Projects is seeking a highly experienced planner scheduler with a strong background in major and complex programs of capital work in the engineering and/or construction industry.

You will have significant knowledge and experience in Primavera P6 and superior communication skills to connect at all levels of the organisation.

To be successful you will have:

  • a tertiary qualification in engineering, construction management, project management or other relevant discipline
  • extensive experience in the planning, scheduling, and monitoring of major and complex programs of work
  • demonstrated project management skills
  • expertise in the use of Primavera P6
  • superior communication and presentation skills
  • agility to learn, adapt, and deliver innovation and change.
