About the role
Step into a pivotal role within our Bulk business unit where you will ensure locomotive and wagon assets are available to meet customer commitments, maintain contractual standards, and uphold our Safety Management System. In this role you will ensure trains run like clockwork and that our customers receive service every step of the way while also providing expert advice to the Service Delivery Team on live environment asset decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Optimize Maintenance: Adjust locomotive and wagon maintenance schedules within a 7-day window to enhance performance, streamline tasks, and minimize facility visits.
- Adapt to Challenges: Swiftly pivot from planned maintenance to recovery when disruptions occur.
- Execute and Monitor: Oversee schedules and services, prioritizing safety and operational excellence.
- Minimize Disruptions: Swiftly tackle challenges to keep our service delivery plan on track
- Stakeholder Communication: Relay vital train plan information to all relevant parties seamlessly.
- Service Optimization: Seek opportunities to prevent cancellations and enhance service offerings throughout the day.
- Ensure Compliance: Reschedule activities to meet maintenance standards.
- Coordinate Effortlessly: Work with Asset Planners and suppliers to manage unscheduled maintenance.
- Drive Innovation: Support initiatives to maximize labor and asset utilization, improve planning processes, and foster system enhancements.
- Exceed Expectations: Maintain seamless, timely information flow to surpass customer expectations.

About you
- Proven experience in service delivery and customer-focused operations.
- Expertise in complex rail operations or similar heavy industries.
- Background in short-term labor and/or asset planning and rostering.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to negotiate, influence, and resolve conflicts in fast-paced, complex settings.
- Self-driven and able to work independently, managing tight deadlines and multiple priorities.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Keen attention to detail and a results-driven mindset.
- Commitment to improving safety and efficiency through innovative solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, adept at thriving in dynamic environments.
