Casual Service Delivery Controller – Intermodal

  • North Sydney location, training provided
  • 12 hour shifts! (days/nights/weekend/public holidays)
  • While in training commitment required to work approx. 38hrs a week, after which you will be placed on a casual roster, working on demand as required by the business.

Pacific National (PN) is the largest private provider of diversified rail freight services in Australia. We haul a variety of freight including coal, intermodal containers, steel, and a range of bulk commodities and materials that keep the region’s economy, businesses and households running.

About the role

As an SDC (Service Delivery Controller) within our intermodal business unit you will be responsible for an Operational area, and will be tasked with monitoring, managing, and delivering all our services that operate within this. The team is responsible for working together to ensure all Pacific National services run safely on time, and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities include however are not limited to:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for all stakeholders in your area of operations
  • Entry of detailed and quality data into our transport and labour management systems
  • Directing the movement of our crews across your area to minimise crew travel in cars while ensuring minimal delay to our services
  • Identifying incidents and events

About you

You will be a team player with a strong customer focus, thriving in a fast pace environment where no 2 days are the same. Motivated and adaptable, you are always looking to improve and focus on making quick, confident decisions!

 In addition:

  • Excellent communication skills!
  • Intermediate level computer skills
  • Flexibility to work casual shifts, including days and nights
  • Experience in transport or labour management systems is a plus but not essential
