About the Role
The Driver Trainer supports the operational Leaders to ensure training requirements are met and legislative compliance is assured at the depot.
The Driver Trainer will be primarily responsible for ensuring that the Perth & Merredin Intermodal Train Crew are competent to perform rail safety work and comply with the Rail Safety standards, along with the technical based training, assessment, compliance, currency and records of Rail Safety Workers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Plan and prioritise the safe and compliant delivery of technical training
- Develop and facilitate individual training plans to achieve the set business goals
- Ensuring training plans are complete and maintained by efficiently coordinating Train Crew to complete competency assessments on time or before any due dates
- Work closely with the Superintendent Training and the Training Specialists to ensure reliable and consistent training and assessment outcomes
- Develop an understanding of what our customers require from our drivers and set training plans to ensure capability of meeting customer needs and expectations
About You
As an experienced Train Driver / Trainer you have a positive attitude, strong work ethic and a commitment to upholding and promoting our company values.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
- Current Cert IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) is required however certificate can be provided to the right applicant
- Proven experience and currently accredited Mainline or Mentor Driver
- Strong track record of safely operating locomotives
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to compliance and safety, and a willingness to pass on knowledge and mentor others
- Intermediate proficiency with computers with a focus on MS Office and other systems related to planning and compliance
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
