Salary Range: Junior - AUD $553.80 - $1246.40 (20 years and under) Adult - AUD$1141.00 - $1246.60 (21 years and over) per 38-hour week, 9-day fortnight, plus 14% super, personal leave, tool allowance, uniform and all PPE provided. (Remuneration stated is for the full-time positions)

As an Apprentice Carpenter, you will get the training, support and mentoring you need to get involved in a range of diverse tasks. Training will be delivered by block release through Tafe at Bracken Ridge or Acacia Ridge. Our apprenticeship program provides you with the skills, training and experience to develop a long-term career in the industry, by gaining a nationally recognised qualification.
Trade Services, in our Construction Branch, is a team of plumbers, electricians, painters and carpenters. Our teams carry out a diverse range of reactive and programmed maintenance activities on Council facilities and project work to deliver the required outcome, especially where a multi-trade approach is required.
The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic apprentice to join our Carpentry Team and build your new career. Learn how to problem solve and find solutions to repair and maintain current Council assets as well as creating and developing new construction, all while ensuring value for our community.
Some of your tasks include the maintenance and re-stumping of buildings, restoring heritage structures, as well as repairs and upgrades to community facilities and office fit outs. You will have the opportunity to install flooring, replace doors, decks, fences, park bollards, as well as cabinet making, joinery installation, timber milling, concreting, tiling, and rendering. You will be required to work at heights, on scaffolding and elevated platforms, as well as accessing smaller spaces as part of the role, all across our beautiful Brisbane.

- preference will be given to those who have a current C class driver’s licence and ideally access to your own transport.
