Are you passionate about fostering strong vendor relationships and ensuring seamless procurement processes? Join us as a Vendor Management Specialist and play a key role in managing and enhancing IT vendor relationships. Your expertise will contribute to our mission of delivering excellence in education and research through strategic vendor management, governance, and risk mitigation.
In this role you will:
- Ensure procurement activities comply with buying rules, financial delegations, and governance standards.
- Review vendor agreements to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring key contractual terms are understood and addressed.
- Negotiate contract renewals to secure value-driven outcomes, fostering positive relationships with vendors and seeking win-win solutions.
- Monitor and manage expenditures, ensuring they are appropriate, timely, and aligned with University policies.
- Maintain detailed records to ensure a clear audit trail for all vendor agreements and procurement activities.
This continuing position is full time and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal land).
How will you inspire us?
You will have:
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with a focus on building collaborative relationships with vendors.
- Methodical and detail-oriented approach, with an understanding of legalities and risk management in vendor contracts.
- Familiarity with procurement practices in a NSW government entity or a similar environment.
