Are you an organised and detail-oriented administrator with a passion for learning and development? Join our People Experience team and play a key role in supporting and coordinating the delivery of impactful training, onboarding, and engagement programs for staff.
The Role
As a Learning and Development Assistant, you will provide essential coordination and administrative support for Learning and Development (L&D) and People Experience programs. From organising venues and catering to managing course materials, onboarding new employees, and supporting staff events, your work will directly contribute to creating an engaging and supportive learning environment.
This includes but not limited to:
- Coordinating L&D programs – book venues, arrange catering, prepare materials, and manage participant communications.
- Supporting onboarding – ensuring new employees are included in onboarding activities, distributing welcome gifts, and tracking completion rates.
- Assisting with event management – helping organise staff engagement events such as the Annual Excellence Awards and Welcome Morning Teas.
- Providing administrative support – managing meeting coordination, financial processes, and training resources.
- Enhancing processes – identifying and implementing continuous improvements in L&D administration and systems.
What we’re looking for
- Strong administrative and organisational skills with great attention to detail.
- Experience in event coordination or training administration (preferred).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint) and familiarity with HR systems is a plus.
This continuing position is full time at a HEW 4 Higher Education Level located at Callaghan Campus.

About the Unit
This role sits within the Human Resource Services (HRS) unit within the Resources Division. HRS provides a broad range of direct HR services across all areas of the University. This role works closely with other HR teams including Talent Acquisition, HR Advisory Support, HRIS, Employee Experience and Wellbeing, Health & Safety.
