The unit 

The School of Humanities, Creative Industries and Social Sciences is a major driver of the College and University’s social research and innovation agenda and will increasingly look to pursue industry engagement into new markets for research and development, social innovation, potential commercialisation opportunities, and career ready placement programs.   

The role 

This is a great opportunity to support the expansion of student placement courses across the School of Humanities, Creative Industries and Social Sciences. You will: 

  • Play a key role in coordinating and delivering high-quality teaching in our placement courses.  
  • Develop professional networks and industry partnerships to facilitate ongoing placement opportunities and to support career transition outcomes.   
  • Develop materials for placement courses, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices. 

This continuing position is full time and will be located at the Newcastle City Campus (Awabakal and Worimi land). 

What you need to succeed 

  • Doctoral qualification or equivalent accreditation and standing in a humanities, creative industries or social sciences discipline area  
  • Strong professional networks, and the ability to develop new collaborative relationships with industry partners that will support teaching and placement activities.  
  • Knowledge and experience needed to lead course coordination, delivery, and effective supervision and management of placements courses  
  • A commitment to fostering equity across a diverse student cohort

The remuneration for this position is from $112,717 - $133,853 +17% superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.
