About the role

Your opportunity to join a friendly, welcoming and experienced team of Engineers. Come in with your in-depth backend coding experience (Python, Java or C#), and work on multiple projects and works across the Group. We are true collaborators and supporters of one another, and coordinating across projects is key to our success.

You will be empowered and an integral part of designing, building, testing, deploying and optimising Jemena's integration platform applications and infrastructure. You will focuses on developing, building and running integration solutions that support strategic business initiatives and ensure operational continuity. "Platform" in this context refers to a comprehensive array of integration applications and infrastructure components managed by Jemena. This includes integration applications running on AWS cloud and on-premise infrastructure when the integration solutions need to be isolated to meet energy regulatory requirements.

Your role will see you contribute significantly to both ongoing integration platform operation and optimization of project delivery, ensuring the integration solutions are continuously aligned with the evolving needs of the business. Participation in an on-call 24x7 roster is required to support all integration platform components, underscoring the importance of the Integration Engineer in ensuring system security, availability and performance across Jemena’s diverse operational environments.

A little about you

  • experience in designing, building, testing and operating integration solutions, using a variety technologies (APIs, file transfer, events and data streaming)
  • ability to design, build, and operate Integration Platforms that support both operational continuity and strategic business initiatives
  • experience in quality engineering practices: such as code reviews, version control, configuration management, automated testing and deployment, and automated environment configuration management
  • experience in integration projects with a focus on technical governance and ensuring solutions adhere to integration and enterprise engineering standards and compliance requirements
  • familiarity in implementing disaster recovery plans and high-availability configurations.
  • understanding of security standards and compliance requirements specific to integration solutions across both cloud and on-premises platforms, ensuring systems adhere to regulatory expectations.

Technical skills that will make you successful

  • Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Solid knowledge of modern software engineering practices, across the design build, test, deploy, and run of Integration solutions
  • Good understanding of modern IT infrastructure components, including detailed understanding of cloud services (AWS, Azure), server architectures, network configurations, and security protocols.
  • Knowledge of modern architecture patterns (Microservices, Event driven), DevOps practices, and agile methodologies to enhance service delivery and platform reliability.
  • Familiar with virtualization and containerization technologies(Docker, K8s).
  • Proficiency in using IaC tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation to automate the provisioning and management of IT resources.
