Be challenged and imagine with us

As Director, Risk Services, you will play a vital role in enhancing the University’s risk culture and maturity by leading the development and implementation of risk management, business continuity, internal audit, and insurance processes.

In this role you will:

  • Promote and embed a strong risk culture underpinned by the Risk Management Framework, ensuring alignment with the University's strategic objectives.
  • Provide expert advice to the Risk Committee, Executive Leadership Team, and senior stakeholders, building awareness and buy-in for risk management processes.
  • Oversee the University’s internal audit program, ensuring recommendations are actioned and progress is effectively communicated.
  • Support the management of insurance processes, leveraging external broker expertise to meet the University’s needs.

This continuing position is full time and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal land).

  • Diverse experience managing risk within commercial or industrial environments, demonstrating expertise across various industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior leaders, fostering buy-in for risk management initiatives.
  • Strong emotional resilience including the capability to manage pushback and build strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Proven experience uplifting organisational risk maturity, including the development and implementation of policies and frameworks.

The remuneration for this position is Higher Education Worker 10 + 17% superannuation.
