The Professional Experience Team Leader plays a pivotal role in planning and coordinating Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and student placements, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and leading a dedicated team to enhance the student experience. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to align strategic and operational objectives and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the Professional Experience team, ensuring high performance and a positive workplace culture, including overseeing the allocation of responsibilities, performance reviews, and development opportunities for team members.
- Coordinating the annual professional experience calendar, ensuring timely and compliant student placement, and providing operational support and advice to senior management and academic staff.
- Developing and redefining procedures to improve placement experiences, driving a culture of continuous improvement to enhance student engagement and success.
- Fostering and maintaining productive relationships with internal stakeholders, private providers, partners, and community organisations, to promote professional experience opportunities and negotiate placements.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements and providing recommendations and insights to senior management.

The Professional Experience Unit is situated in the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor of the College of Health, Medicine and Wellbeing. The College is comprised of four Schools: School of Medicine and Public Health, School of Nursing and Midwifery, School of Biomedical Sciences and Pharmacy and School of Health Sciences, and has a strong, clinical-oriented research profile, excellent teaching and innovative learning approaches, and a focus on professional experience
