About the role

As a Duty Manager at Fawkner Leisure Centre, you will oversee the daily operations of the facility, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of all departments. You will play a vital role in representing management on the floor, fostering a positive and welcoming experience for both staff and patrons. Your responsibilities will include managing staff, addressing customer inquiries and concerns, and ensuring that all safety and operational standards are met.

Additionally, you will be instrumental in building partnerships with the local community, enhancing the centre's role as a hub for connection and inclusivity. Your leadership, problem-solving skills, and commitment to excellence will be key in creating an environment where everyone feels valued and supported.

This is a part time position with an hourly rate of $31.61 + super. Full time and casual appointments will also be considered.

About you

As a Duty Manager you will act as positive role model in an effort to build strong people, strong families and strong communities, as well as identifying potential risk factors and taking steps to reduce those risks. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and all facility users.

Essential Qualifications

  • Aquatic Pool Lifeguard Certificate
  • HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

Other Desired Qualifications or Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Legislation is an advantage
  • Previous experience in a similar facility in a supervisory role is desirable
