About us

Queensland Hydro is a publicly owned entity established by the Queensland Government to design, deliver, operate and maintain long duration pumped hydro energy storage assets that will be the cornerstone for the transformation of the state’s energy system. 

The organisation will drive delivery of world-class pumped hydro assets to provide the long-term storage and reliability needed to power Queensland’s clean energy future. The organisation will play a critical role in assisting the Queensland Government to meet its renewable energy targets and net zero emissions by 2050, supporting the shift in the Australian economy to a decarbonised energy system. 

Purpose 

The Office Administrator plays a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the physical office spaces and supporting the team to ensure efficient and effective facility operations to meet the needs of the organisation. 

 

Key Accountabilities 

The key accountabilities include but are not limited to:

Administrative Support: 

  • Delivering general administration duties in a timely and effective manner including procurement activities, coordination of IT equipment, ordering stationery, kitchen supplies and Personal Protective Equipment. 
  • Data entry, scanning of documents, maintenance of records and databases to support the onboarding and offboarding processes. 
  • Maintenance of facility-related documentation, including site maintenance records, service contracts, schedules and compliance reports. 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date facility inventory and asset registers. 
  • Raise relevant procurement documentation to support payment of facility related invoices. 
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate and accessible for audits and reviews. 

Health and Safety Compliance: 

  • Ensure that facility operations meet Queensland Hydro’s Health and Safety standards in conjunction with our Workplace Health and Safety team. 
  • Assist in conducting regular safety inspections and audits to identify and address potential hazards. 

Operational Coordination: 

  • Ensure meeting rooms, kitchen and general office areas are neat and tidy and well supplied at all times. 
  • Maintain and respond to enquiries from the Facilities Inbox and ticketing system. 
  • Support the team as contact for facility-related inquiries and issues. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including employees, management, and external service providers. 
  • Point of contact for receipt of deliveries.

About you

To be successful in this position, you will possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years of administrative experience, ideally within a similar industry.
  • A proactive, go-getter attitude.
  • A passion for working in a dynamic, fast-paced, and fun environment.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Experience with facilities management software is a plus.
  • The ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • A problem-solving mindset and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
