Due to our growth, ADP (a Lycopodium business) is searching for a Shared Services Supervisor: Finance. In this role the successful candidate will oversee the daily operations of the finance shared services team within an EPCM business and assist the Finance Manager with any queries regarding outstanding issues on suppliers.
The tasks you’ll perform
- Oversee the daily operations of the finance shared services team within an EPCM business.
- Assist the financial manager with any queries regarding outstanding issues on suppliers.
- Supervise finance shared services activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and treasury operations.
- Ensure timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections while maintaining accuracy and compliance with policies.
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring adherence to financial deadlines.
- Maintain financial controls and compliance with GAAP, IFRS, tax regulations, and internal policies.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness is shared services functions.
- Support automation initiatives and ERP enhancements for streamlined financial operations.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, tax laws, and company policies.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors, subcontractors, and internal project teams for finance-related queries.
- Work closely with procurement and project management teams to ensure smooth invoices approvals, vendor payments, and contract compliance.
- Monitor key financial metrics and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Supervise and mentor a team of finance professionals, ensuring training, performance management, and career development.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accuracy, and accountability within the finance shared services team.
- Ensure workload distribution and backup planning to maintain business continuity.
- Prepare and analyse financial reports, cash flow forecasts, and working capital reports for senior management.
- Provide insights on financial trends, risks, and opportunities to support business decision-making.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities by providing relevant financial data.
- Ad hoc duties as required.
The expertise you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or equivalent preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in finance shared services, preferably in an EPCM or project-based environment.
- Strong understanding of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or Similar) and finance automation tools.
- Experience with multi-currency transactions, tax regulations, and intercompany accounting.
- Knowledge of engineering/ construction project accounting principles is an asset.
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Cape Town based.
- South African Citizen or Permanent Resident.

- Demonstrate proficiency with the Microsoft suite of software packages, including Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, specifically in English
- Proven ability to produce accurate and professional complex, technical documentation.
- Demonstrate the ability to work efficiently in a team and knowledge sharing environment.
- Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and a practical approach to problem-solving.
- Self-motivated with excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple, varied tasks while ensuring attention to detail.
