Due to our growth, ADP (a Lycopodium business) is searching for an Accounts Supervisor. In this role the successful candidate will be crucial in leading and managing our Accounts teams in providing an efficient and effective service to the ADP Group in respect of accounts payable/processing. 

The tasks you’ll perform

  • Lead and manage the team’s performance in terms of processing of creditors and debtors invoices, the preparation of preliminary reconciliations, creditors and debtors records and reports in a multi-currency environment. 
  • Assist the financial managers with any queries regarding outstanding issues on creditors, debtors and cashbook.
  • Supervision, Management and ultimate Accountability of Processing Finance team to ensure the smooth running of the processing department to ensure the end product is accurate and complete.
  • Review of daily accounting processing of finance team, including reconciliations.
  • Ensure that the company’s financial records are accurate and up-to-date and that all financial transactions are correctly recorded and documented.
  • Assist with the completion and vetting of debtor and creditor applications.
  • Allocate work between yourself and staff, ensuring assignments are staffed with the appropriate mix of knowledge and skills required.
  • Resolve financial queries by interacting and co-operating with all stakeholders of the organisation and its suppliers.
  • Providing guidance to all members in the team.
  • Managing staff performance and development.
  • Ensuring adherence to company policies
  • Facilitate the necessary training and supporting finance team members in the use of the relevant financial systems and procedures.
  • Assist in month-end procedures.
  • Assist with Interim and Annual audit preparation.
  • Adhoc duties as and when assigned.

The expertise you’ll bring

  • Grade 12 (Matric), with Mathematics and Accounting.
  • Qualification in an Accounting discipline, advantageous.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Financial Department.
  • 2+ years of experience in a finance supervisory role, advantageous.
  • Cape Town based.
  • South African Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Management skills.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Positive, confident, self-motivated and a team player.
  • Readily and willing to assist fellow team members where needed.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Conflict resolution.
  • Ability to conform to listed group processes and procedures but also be adaptable within the confines of the financial environment.
  • Solid technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision whilst consistently producing a high quality of deliverables, within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with the Microsoft suite of software packages, including Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, specifically in English
  • Proven ability to produce accurate and professional complex, technical documentation.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work efficiently in a team and knowledge sharing environment.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and a practical approach to problem-solving.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple, varied tasks while ensuring attention to detail.
