About the role:

As the Horticulture Team Leader at Summerland Farm, you will play a vital role in supporting a dynamic team of employees with disabilities, helping them to develop the skills they need to meet performance goals.

Located in Alstonville, New South Wales, Summerland Farm is part of Aruma, one of Australia’s largest disability service providers. Our farm is a leading sustainable horticulture business and social enterprise, specialising in macadamia dehusking, fruit grading, and packing services. As an award-winning business, we are proud to incorporate sustainable farming, packing, and distribution practices into everything we do.

In this role, you will lead and coach the Fruit Packing team, ensuring high standards of quality and customer service. Your leadership will focus on providing one-on-one support to employees with disabilities, helping them achieve their employment goals. You will also manage performance, provide constructive feedback, and ensure a safe, inclusive, and empathetic work environment. Your contribution will directly support the continued success of the business and foster a team culture that reflects Aruma’s values. About You:

  • Tertiary qualification in Horticulture, administration or business or customer service.
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising employees and or teams.
  • A practical understanding of WHS requirements.
  • Sufficient physical fitness to meet the manual handling and environmental requirements of the position.
  • Customer focused with commitment to delivering high quality products and services for Aruma’s commercial customers
  • Demonstrated commitment to working in alignment with Aruma’s core values and Code of Conduct.
  • Hold a current Australian Driver’s Licence (unrestricted) and willingness to use personal vehicle, in accordance with Aruma policy for work purposes if required.
  • Ability to travel interstate and intrastate as and when required.
  • Have NDIS Worker Screening Check and Police Check clearance OR be willing to complete
  • Have a current First aid and CPR Certificate OR be willing to complete

Desirable

  • Demonstrated knowledge of NDIS funding model and processes
  • Formal leadership training (such as Cert IV or Diploma of Frontline Management).
  • Previous experience working with people with disabilities.
