Hunter New England Local Health District provides services to a diverse population over a large geographical area, both metropolitan and rural. Hunter New England Local Health District is focused on improving the effectiveness and efficiency of their hospital-based services and ensuring that the community receives care in the most appropriate setting, be that hospital, in the community or in their home.
The University and Hunter New England Health have a shared focus on translational research, and the role of Joint Chair and Professor of Nursing is a result of the shared vision to build healthier communities and provide world class patient care.
An exciting opportunity exists for an outstanding individual to provide vision and leadership in the Nursing and Midwifery disciplines, in advancing nursing and midwifery research and evidenced based practice in the Hunter New England Local Health District and the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Newcastle.
The role will advance research-based articulation of clinical reasoning among nursing and midwifery staff and facilitate translational research initiatives and build the research capability of Nurses and Midwives within the Hunter New England Local Health District and the School.
The successful candidate will work within the strategic framework of Hunter New England Local Health District and the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Newcastle, fostering a collaborative, dynamic, productive and globally competitive research environment through research collaboration, external grant income, publication outputs, and research higher degree graduates.
The role will be located at the HNELHD Nursing and Midwifery Research Centre, Newcastle, working across the District and within the School and will have an incredible opportunity to deliver thought leadership in an integrated and innovative research environment with direct impact on patients and the community.
