As the Senior Manager, Research Infrastructure & Planning, you will work closely with the Director, Research Facilities & Infrastructure to lead a team focused on enhancing the University's research infrastructure and advancing activities aligned with the University's Strategic Plan.

In this role you will:

  • Lead a team to improve University research infrastructure and facilities, including high-risk teaching spaces.
  • Oversee Precinct activities, including management committees, stakeholder relationships, and initiatives to enhance:
  • Safety and wellbeing,
  • Infrastructure planning and operations,
  • Space management and utilisation, and
  • Research and technical support.
  • Collaborate with Colleges, Central Analytical Facilities, and the BioResearch Facility to support long-term facility planning, maintenance, and resource management.
  • Work to ensure the University’s research spaces and work practices meet legislative requirements, including WHS and University policies.

This continuing position is full time and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal and Worimi land).

You will have:

  • Strong leadership abilities and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills, demonstrated through the production of high-quality briefing materials and impactful presentations.
  • Experience in coordinating and delivering complex projects within a university or other multi-faceted organisation.
  • Expertise in overseeing, directing, and coordinating the development and implementation of operational, safety, and administrative policies, systems, and procedures.
  • Capacity to shape the future, engage beyond the University, collaborate effectively, strive for excellence, drive performance, and demonstrate courage and respect.

The remuneration for this position is from $130,798 to $140,139 + 17% superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.

The Research Facilities & Infrastructure (RFI) team within the Research & Innovation Division oversees the strategy and operations of the University’s research and higher-risk teaching spaces. We drive the realisation of world-class research facilities and infrastructure, working with our colleagues in the Colleges and Divisions of the University.

The Research Facilities and Infrastructure team incorporates the BioResearch Facilities, the Central Analytical Facilities (CAF) and the Research Infrastructure and Planning (RIP) , which this role leads. The RFI team is a part of the Research & Innovation Division (R&I Division).
