About the Position:

About Smiles Chatswood is a modern 8 chair fast paced cosmetic focused practice with state of the art technology. We are currently searching for an experienced Dental Assistant/Surgical Nurse to join our supportive and dynamic team on a full time basis with Wednesday's off, including 2 Saturdays per month.

You will be required to assist:

  • Bone graft
  • Implant placement 
  • Periodontist 
  • Know periodontal charting

Our Dentists and team are patient focused to ensure the highest quality treatments and patient centered care are provided every time.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care: Assist with patient management, including greeting patients, preparing them for procedures, and ensuring their comfort.

Clinical Support: Prepare and sterilise dental instruments, assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, and maintain a clean and organized treatment area.

Inventory Management: Monitor dental supplies levels, ensuring the treatment room is well-stocked and organised.

Patient Education: Provide patients with post-operative care instructions and educate them about oral hygiene and preventive care.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with dentists, hygienists, and other staff to ensure a smooth workflow and positive patient experience.

Compliance: Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols, as well as regulatory requirements in the dental practice.

What do you need to succeed:

  • Prior experience as a Dental Assistant is essential
  • A Cert III or IV in Dental Assisting is beneficial but not mandatory
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Capability to address patient concerns and resolve issues with professionalism and empathy
  • Attention to detail
