The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Lead or Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Melbourne office. This is a permanent, critical role with an immediate start.

As a Lead/Senior Electrical Engineer, you will manage and deliver comprehensive electrical design projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. This role offers the opportunity to provide mentorship, ensure compliance with industry standards, and contribute to the growth of our business by delivering effective solutions that meet client needs.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and delivering electrical studies and design projects
  • Coordinating electrical design activities with other engineering disciplines
  • Manage technical compliance and design reviews.
  • Develop contract specifications, tender documents and scopes of work.
  • Review external consultant outputs for compliance.
  • Provide input on design changes and commissioning works.
  • Provide professional engineering guidance on electrical designs.
  • Mentorship and Team Development of junior engineers and providing technical leadership within the team.
  • Drive continuous improvement in electrical systems, processes, and design methodologies 

Reporting to the Manager of Design, the expertise you'll bring

  • A recognised Washington accord bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Ability to register for NER / BLA (Vic) / RPEQ
  • Ideal role for those with 10+ years’ experience in electrical design
  • Sound knowledge of requirements of AS3000
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of presenting technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise to a high standard of accuracy and professionalism.
  • Ability to work in a project-based environment as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team
  • Proven track record in design and commissioning electrical systems and troubleshooting issues during the project lifecycle.
  • Expertise in identifying and mitigating risks in electrical design, ensuring safety compliance with industry standards
  • Some experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams
