What's so exciting about this role? 

The People & Culture (P&C) Business Unit provides both strategic and operational employee solutions across all global functions and markets in which hummgroup operates. As custodians of the organisation’s culture, P&C partner with business leaders to create and deliver exceptional people experiences in the moments that matter. The Senior People & Culture Business Partner plays a critical role in the delivery of effective people initiatives in alignment with business objectives and by providing trusted strategic support to senior leaders with perspective and challenge.   

 

What does an average day look like? 

No day is average at humm but here’s an idea of what you can expect to do in this role: 

  • Collaborate directly with executive stakeholders and leadership teams to develop and implement hummgroup people strategies 
  • Provide hands-on coaching to leaders on how to design, build and develop high performing teams 
  • Partner with key business units on organisation design, focusing on spans and layers including contingent workforces 
  • Partner with senior leaders to identify workforce planning and talent needs, while developing and implementing effective talent mapping and succession plans 
  • Provide AU and NZ employment relations advisory, pro-actively managing ER/IR risk, and managing/overseeing complex cases  
  • Implement and embed the performance management framework, and initiatives to drive culture, employee engagement, recognition, development, and leader accountability 
  • Support the integration and implementation of people tools, systems and frameworks 
  • Implement group people strategy initiatives within key business units to attract, retain and develop talent 
  • Alignment to P&C policies and processes and ensure appropriate approval process as determined by Delegations of Authority and internal governance and controls 
  • Utilise data analytics to identify trends, diagnose root causes of issues, and measure the effectiveness of programs, to make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement 
  • Ensure that all regulatory requirements and compliance is maintained and traceable

We’re also looking for someone who brings: 

  • 5+ years of senior generalist HR business partnering in a complex, multi-geographical, fast paced environment  
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree desirable) 
  • Track record in successfully delivering key large-scale People initiatives across the employee lifecycle from onboarding, performance management, leadership development, organisation design and development, talent management, remuneration & reward, and employment relations 
  • Expert communication skills to ensure clarity and alignment 
  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills and experience of working with executives and senior leaders across multiple locations 
  • The agility to identify opportunities and threats, and act to implement change quickly  
  • Knowledge of all relevant employment legislation across NZ & AU (required) and UK, Canada, Ireland (highly desirable) 
  • Relevant experience in a multi-entity, complex, and distributed financial services environment (desired)
