About the Role

As an expert on industry market trends, potential and landscape, the Industry Consultant works closely with the sales development teams, leading product/packaging development and delivering solution frameworks and pre-sales customer engagement.

We are seeking three Industry Consultants with expertise in at least one of the following areas: National Government, defence, law enforcement, utilities, oil and gas, plantation, AEC, telecommunications, commercial, or transportation.

Your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Advising Esri Malaysia and its’ clients on the use and delivery of geospatial business solution based on the industry needs and trends.
  • Responsible for the industry solutioning framework design aligned to the country’s market demands.
  • Working closely with sales, partners, solution and industry’s service delivery to ensure that the proposed industry solutions accurately address the industry needs and are appropriately supported by the key industry players and decision-makers.
  • Leading the design of the industry solutions and advisory role in Esri Malaysia, supporting Esri Malaysia throughout the sales and delivery process including but not limited to, sales support, bid support, technologies updates, events & conferences and technical advisory that is required by the assigned industry.

About You

An ideal candidates will have a background in GIS, Remote Sensing, or IT, along with experience in core Esri technologies (server, app, desktop), solutioning skills (presentation, communication, requirement capturing, paperwork, hands-on POC), and an industry background.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Degree in GIS, Computer Science, IT, or Software Engineering.
  • Familiar with Esri products, solutions, and complementary software. Proven experience in application of GIS concepts and technologies is preferred.
  • Experience with developing industry solution framework and engage in pre-sales customer activities.
  • Experience with leading pre-sales efforts: sales support, bid support, and technology updates.
  • Experience working in industries such as National Government, defence, law enforcement, utilities, oil and gas, plantation, AEC, telecommunications, commercial, or transportation.
  • Knowledge of key industry stakeholders and compliance, customer’s industry requirements, goals, and workflows.
  • Analytical with strong problem-solving skills and a proven ability to diagnose business problems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written in Malay and English.
  • Effective presentation and relationship building skills.
