About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated Part Time Employment Coach / Advisor (30 hours per week) to work within our Employment Support Team.

As an Employment Coach / Advisor, will be our brand ambassador, focused on promoting Aruma’s supported employment opportunities and School Leaver Employment Support (SLES) service, building relationships, and recruiting and onboarding people with a disability into Aruma’s supported employment vacancies and SLES program.

This role involves conducting site tours for various stakeholders including providers, employees and students. You must be confident to travel to different locations independently and build client relationships for Aruma. Your vibrant and positive energy will assist in engaging with customers and stakeholders to showcase the opportunities that Aruma can provide to people living with disabilities. Your interpersonal and relationship building skills will enable you to build strong community partnerships.

In this role you will also be involved facilitating our employment readiness program. You will provide guidance and mentoring to individuals with disabilities, helping them achieve meaningful employment outcomes. The program will be facilitated in both group and individual learning sessions, tailoring content and delivery to match each person’s learning style and needs. A collaborative and consultative approach is essential to align with Aruma’s purpose and values and effectively support our stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Showcasing and promoting supported employment and SLES opportunities Aruma
  • Engage with the community to source opportunities for potential employees or students
  • Identifying and engaging potential supported employees and SLES participants, and guiding them through the onboarding process
  • Collaborate with, and support internal stakeholders to ensure successful employment pathways for supported employees and students
  • Coordinate end to end documentation
  • Planning and participating in meetings with multiple stakeholders to identify businesses needs opportunities for continuous improvement

About You

  • Experience or interest in education or training within the disability industry, or other person related industry
  • Experience in recruitment and customer service, preferably in the disability sector highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in supported individuals to learn new skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to negotiate and manage conflict, escalating where necessary
  • Demonstrated experience in using traditional methods and digital platforms for recruitment, including developing recruitment pipelines through multiple channels.
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships within the community and industry networks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, including the ability to negotiate and manage conflict, escalating where necessary.
  • Demonstrated experience using multiple IT platforms including Microsoft suite of programs.

  • Have NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance and Working with Children Check or be willing to complete
  • Be willing to complete a National Police Check clearance.
  • Hold a current Australian Driver’s Licence (unrestricted) and willingness to use own vehicle (if required) with comprehensive insurance.
  • Be willing to travel, as required
