About the role

Reporting to the Support Manager or Service Leader, you will work within the Purpose and Values of Aruma. You will be part of a high performing Youth Support Team working towards delivering a positive customer experience to those in our care.

Key Focus Areas

  • Provide direct care within a residential setting, ensuring a safe and nurturing home-like environment and promoting positive family relationships
  • You will have resilience to work within a trauma-informed framework that makes a real difference with young people who have complex needs and challenging behaviours

What you’ll need

  • Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential Care), or equivalent (click here to view more details) (Minimum-Qualification-Strategy-for-Residential-Care-Workers-in-Victoria-May-2017.docx (live.com) or working towards
  • Willingness to study Top Up Units Residential Care (4 Modules), costs associated
  • Valid Australian full driver’s licence, for the state you have applied for
  • Valid Australian working rights
  • Willingness to complete a Child Safety and Personal Screening Check
  • Hold (or are willing to obtain) a Working With Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, First Aid and CPR qualifications.

 Skills and experience

  • Availability to work any rostered shifts across a 24/7 roster model, including awake nights and sleepovers
  • You are passionate about supporting young people who have experienced trauma and have a disability
