Are you ready to lead a top-tier team in Occupational Hygiene and HazMat? At WSP, we’re seeking an experienced Team Manager to spearhead our Queensland team from our Brisbane office. Make a significant impact on our projects while advancing your career.

Role Overview:

As the Team Manager for Occupational Hygiene & HazMat at WSP, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the future of our Environmental consulting division. Based in Brisbane, you will lead and manage the Queensland team, drive regional growth, and ensure the highest standards of safety and compliance in all projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a strategic vision for the Queensland Occupational Hygiene & HazMat team, aligning with WSP’s broader organisational goals and driving regional business growth.
  • Business Management: Achieve key commercial targets, including revenue, margin, and project performance metrics. Maintain team billability targets and oversee the Project Performance Review process.
  • Client Engagement: Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, securing repeat business and identifying new opportunities through exceptional service and strategic business development.
  • Project Oversight: Lead the delivery of complex projects, ensuring comprehensive management of occupational hygiene and HazMat risks while upholding the highest quality and safety standards.
  • Mentorship and Development: Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance within the Queensland team. Provide guidance and support to team members, focusing on their professional development and achieving team excellence.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulatory compliance. Investigate and resolve SHEQ issues and ensure thorough training and adherence to safety practices.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Leadership Experience: Extensive experience in occupational hygiene and hazardous materials management, with a proven track record in leadership roles.
  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrated ability in assessing and managing occupational health and safety risks, with expertise in developing and implementing strategic solutions.
  • Project Management: Strong background in managing projects and multidisciplinary teams, with a history of successful project delivery.
  • Client Relationship Skills: Exceptional client engagement and business development capabilities, with a commitment to delivering outstanding service.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Science, or a related field. Certifications such as Certified Occupational Hygienist (COH) or Licenced Asbestos Assessor are preferred or the ability to obtain.
