Whilst completing a Certificate III in Business, you would be working full time at the Council within the Customer Service Team. If you are about to complete school, this opportunity may be exactly what you are after, to commence your career in administration.

What would this involve?

  • You would be employed by Work & Training for the duration of your training contract and hosted to Devonport City Council.
  • Full time hours.
  • Full entitlements including four weeks of holidays for the year.
  • Theory training conducted one-on-one in the workplace with our experienced trainer.

  • With your commitment and willingness to learn on-the-job, you will gain valuable experience in written and verbal communication, with a particular regard to accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Hone your exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to provide great customer service, both face to face and over the phone.
  • Demonstrate your capacity to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
  • As part of the Customer Service Team, you will learn to deliver a high standard of service for both internal and external clients in a professional manner, as the first point of contact.
  • Your qualification will allow you to perfect the skill of being organized and setting work priorities.
  • Become proficient in the use of computer systems, including Office 365 – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint; and acquire knowledge of specialist systems such as Technology One.

Essential Criteria:

  • The successful candidate will need to undergo a National Police Check.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain high standards of ethics & integrity.

Desirable Criteria:

  • An understanding of relevant local government legislation.
  • Car license.
