About the role:
This is a great opportunity for a Principal Environmental Scientist to join the Environment and Heritage Services team. You will be responsible for leading the assessment of environmental impacts and securing approvals along the asset value chain. You will guide and mentor the team, innovate and share knowledge. Your professional expertise will also support strategic and operational business needs.
About you:
- About 10-15 years’ relevant industry experience
- Tertiary qualifications in environmental science / environmental management (or other relevant discipline)
- Proven experience in complex environmental planning, impact assessment and approvals for infrastructure assets considering risk, cost and performance drivers
- Applied knowledge of relevant environmental legislation and current environmental issues for complex projects/programs
- Proven technical leadership in cross-functional teams
- Experience leading and mentoring team members
- Superior communication and negotiation skills illustrating effective working relationships at all levels with internal and external stakeholders and regulators
- Understanding and experience with major water utility or similar.
