About the role

Table Tennis Australia is seeking the services of a highly skilled team player for the position of National Head Coach (Able-Bodied).

Reporting directly to the National Program Manager (Able-Bodied) and working in close collaboration with the National Assistant Coaches (Able-Bodied) you will be responsible for delivering internationally competitive results at junior and senior levels and building a sustainable performance pathway program.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the coaching of the National Team at continental and international competitions (junior and senior).
  • Develop and maintain a daily training environment for National Squad Members in Australia.
  • Building a sustainable performance pathway, including identifying, developing, supporting and progressing talented athletes to achieve future medal-winning performances.
  • Coach pathway development athletes at continental and international competitions.
  • Assist with identification of innovative ways to build the skills and knowledge of coaches around Australia.

This is a full-time position (38 hours per week) for a two-year contract and will be based in Melbourne.


About you

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated coach with knowledge of coach development methodologies and understanding of high-performance landscape.

Experience and qualification requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in a high-performance environment coaching, developing and motivating athletes from varying abilities and background.
  • Experience coaching a National Team and creating optimal training environments.
  • Minimum TTA Level 2 Coaching Accreditation (or equivalent from country of origin), or be willing to obtain, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
  • Experience implementing performance pathway programs to progress athletes from Emerging, to Developing, to Podium Potential.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategy development, strategy execution and stakeholder engagement.
  • Working with children check or be willing to obtain.
