About the role

  • This exciting position for an early-career psychologist is designed to support your transition into the workforce after completing your university-based training, while you undertake your clinical neuropsychology registrar program.
  • One position is available for a new-graduate psychologist seeking clinical neuropsychology endorsement, commencing February 2025
  • During your two-year registrar period, you will have the opportunity to complete two 12-month rotations across four sites at Alfred Health.  Rotation One:  Older Persons Mental Health, St Kilda Road Clinic adult mental health programs, and Inpatient Psychiatric Unit.  Rotation Two:  Alfred Brain Program (including Neurology, Neurosurgery, Epilepsy, inpatients and outpatients) and Acquired Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service.
  • You will provide a range of neuropsychology services to consumers of each service that you rotate through, including but not limited to:  conducting comprehensive neuropsychological assessments, formulate diagnoses, prepare clinical reports, provide feedback on assessment and recommendations to the treating team, client, and their families/carers, and identify consumers suitable for individual cognitive rehabilitation and/or group-based cognitive remediation programs.
  • You will be supported by highly experienced supervisors in each rotation, receive supervision provided by a dedicated Psychology Educator throughout your two-year program, and attend regular peer group supervision.
  • We are seeking applications from current final year Clinical Neuropsychology Masters/ Doctoral candidates who currently hold provisional registration and expect to attain General Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia by no later than end of January 2025.
  • Please specify the date that you anticipate attaining General Registration in your cover letter.
