About the role
The Program Planning Manager is responsible for the overall program and resource plan for the Gas Distribution and Transmission programs of works delivered by the field operational teams. The role will optimise utilisation of field resources and liaise with asset management and operational leadership to support the safe and efficient delivery of the works program.
The principal accountability of this role is the change control of the programs of work, identifying program, resourcing and delivery risks and liaising with senior stakeholders to develop delivery strategies to mitigate risks and drive operational efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities include
- Long term planning for the Gas Distribution and Gas Transmission program of works from 2+ years to the year of delivery
- Leading a team of master planners and program planners with cross functional collaboration and data driven decision making to meet business objectives
- Providing clear visibility of potential risk scenarios and mitigation strategies
- Overseeing the integrated planning tool and its outputs to monitor performance against the agreed financial, resourcing and operational targets
- Developing planning, resourcing and monitoring strategies with Operational Managers to deliver the program of work
- Influencing senior decision making in the prioritisation of work, resourcing strategies and changes to the programs of work
- Driving real-time, what-to-do-next and what-if analyses of resourcing strategies and implementation of solutions
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Project / Program Management, engineering, supply chain, production planning or other appropriate discipline
- Relevant Program Management experience with a solid experience in utilities (or related) environment.
- Experience in managing high volume routine programs delivered by a large field force that require optimisation of the resources to meet business objectives
- Experienced in senior and operations stakeholder negotiations to ensure that programs are delivered on time and within budget.
- Experience in establishing and managing reporting and analytics to monitor works delivery and support the business with agile, data driven decision making
- Demonstrated experience of implementing and/or continually improving operational process and systems
