About the role
We are currently looking for an Electrical Network Operator to join Zinfra as a permanent employee based in our purpose built Broadmeadows Depot to work closely with the Team Leader – Network Field Operations. The role will contribute to the safe and cost effective operation, construction, and maintenance of the Electrical Distribution System of the Jemena Electricity Network (JEN).
Due to business requirements the Electrical Network Operator position will require you to work on a shift roster which includes periods of time on formal availability. With unplanned overtime to allow planned/unplanned network switching to be performed, including providing emergency response to the Jemena network.
Key Responsibilities include
- Operating all Zone Substation & Distribution electrical equipment on the JEN, including planned and emergency switching
- Issuing of Electrical Access Authorities and other related paperwork
- Providing Network Operations Control (NOC) relief duties
- Interpreting operating diagrams and construction drawings (high voltage and low voltage)
- Testing and commissioning of new apparatus and/or testing of damaged apparatus
About You
- Exposure to the operation of an electrical distribution network, including all types of distribution, sub transmission and transmission assets
- Ability to identify faults and carry out restoration activities
- Demonstrate an understanding of electrical theory, network and circuit diagrams
- Ability to use and maintain personal test and measuring equipment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing
- Safety focused with commitment to safe systems of work
- Full Victorian driving license
