About the role
We are experiencing steady growth and an exciting pipeline of projects, and as a result, we are looking for a skilled Senior Commissioning Officer to join our team at our Dandenong South depot.
This hands-on role demands broad technical expertise and substantial experience working on substation projects that are integral to Australia's transition to a Net Zero future.
You will be part of our Zinfra Contracting VIC Testing & Commissioning Enterprise Agreement 2021, with a competitive salary and a tool-of-trade vehicle provided. The role typically involves medium to long-term projects across Victoria, with a 9-day fortnight schedule, and overtime paid at penalty rates.
Key Responsibilities include
- Plan & lead the testing and commissioning activities for both brownfield and greenfield 22kV-500kV Substation projects
- Plan and execute outage activities with a focus on safety
- Track, report, and ensure progress aligns with the project commissioning schedule
- Conduct Protection & Control relay testing
- Perform IEC61850 system testing
- Primary Plant testing & commissioning
- Drawing, ITP and defect/RFI management
- Supervise and mentor junior team members
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have significant experience in a similar role, having worked on complex brownfield and greenfield substation projects and hold an Advanced Diploma of ESI Power Systems or an Electrical Engineering Degree
- Experience within the Australian transmission/distribution networks
- A strong background in Electricity Supply Industry (ESI) testing and commissioning
- Relevant training and authorisations in line with VESI standards (desirable)
- Proficient in the operation of Doble and/or Omicron secondary injection test equipment and other primary plant test equipment
- Experience with IEC61850 projects is desirable but not essential
