About the role

We are currently looking for an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation technician to operate and maintain gas facilities and pipelines. This position will be based at our Hume depot.

We need you to assist in playing an integral part of the operations and maintenance team. In reward for your effort you will receive fantastic remuneration and will be working on state-of-the-art facilities and pipelines across multiple assets throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities include

This role will be responsible for carrying out operations maintenance activities to pipelines, compressor / processing facilities and receiving / regulating stations, including:

  • Responding to incidents and emergencies
  • Experience in the operation and maintenance of gas engines and reciprocating compressors
  • Operation and maintenance of high-pressure natural gas equipment and gas quality monitoring equipment
  • Maintenance of electronic measurement instrument, maintenance of valves and other mechanical equipment associated with gas transmission
  • Patrol and maintenance of the pipeline right of way
  • Liaison work with landholders and public authorities
  • A wide variety of pipeline duties including mechanical work, documentation and records maintenance

About You

The successful candidate will have a trade qualification (electrical, instrumentation or equivalent) with proven experience working as a member of an Operations and Maintenance team.

  • Drivers licence
  • Licensed Electrician preferably with instrumentation and hazardous area qualifications
  • High pressure gas experience (desirable)
  • Gas process plant experience (desirable)
  • CP Systems and SCADA experience (desirable)
  • Strong computer skills and use of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • A safety focused attitude
