About the role:

We’re seeking experienced Communication Lineworkers to join our team! In this key role, you’ll be responsible for installing and maintaining both overhead and underground fibre optic and copper communications cables, supporting electrical distribution networks.

Your responsibilities will include;

• Install and maintain overhead and underground fibre optic and copper communications cables to support electrical distribution networks.
• Collaborate closely with fibre optic splicers to ensure efficient and safe cable splicing and installation.
• Act as a spotter and assistant to the splicing technician, providing support to ensure safe and accurate execution of tasks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with fibre optic and copper cables to maintain network reliability and performance.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and industry standards while working on-site.
• Participate in routine maintenance and upgrades of communication systems as required.
• Assist in the preparation and setup of work sites, ensuring all necessary tools and equipment are available and in good working condition.
•  Contribute to the overall growth and success of the fibre services area of the business through reliable and skilled work.
• Maintain clear and accurate records of work completed, including any issues encountered and resolutions provided.

About you: 

• Ability to work at heights and handle both overhead and underground fibre optic cable and hardware.
• Qualification as an electrical lineworker is highly desirable, along with a valid fibre optic cabling license.
• Willingness to work a 24/7 on-call roster and maintain flexibility for urgent tasks.
• Experience in maintenance and project work on Distribution and Transmission communication networks.
• Strong knowledge of VESI requirements, cable handling techniques
