Who We Are
Zinfra is a leading partner in the design, build, operation and maintenance of Australia's energy and utilities infrastructure. Delivering an annual portfolio of more than $1.2 billion, our work helps keep energy flowing safely and reliably to communities across Australia while supporting the nation's energy transition.
With a workforce of more than 2,800 people, we deliver complex infrastructure, asset management and field services across Australia's east coast. Our people draw on deep industry experience, an unwavering commitment to safety, and practical innovation to deliver the right outcomes for our clients and communities.
About the Role
This is a hands-on construction leadership role for someone who thrives in complex delivery environments and enjoys being close to the work. As Construction Manager, you'll be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of high-voltage transmission line and substation projects across Victoria, working alongside experienced Project Managers, delivery teams and contractors to achieve project outcomes.
Operating within a growing portfolio of infrastructure projects, you'll be trusted to make decisions, solve problems and lead construction activities in fast-moving environments where accountability matters and practical thinking is valued. While some projects are located across metropolitan Melbourne, most are regional, providing exposure to some of Victoria's most significant energy infrastructure projects and supporting the state's renewable energy future.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the safe delivery of transmission line and substation construction projects, achieving outcomes across safety, quality, schedule and cost.
- Managing site-based construction activities, contractors and delivery teams across multiple projects and locations.
- Working closely with Project Managers to resolve construction challenges, manage risks and maintain project momentum.
- Influencing key delivery decisions while balancing commercial, operational and customer outcomes.
- Contributing to a growing portfolio of energy infrastructure projects that provide long-term career opportunities and exposure.
About You
You're a practical and accountable construction leader who enjoys taking ownership and delivering outcomes. You are comfortable working through complexity, making decisions and leading teams in dynamic site environments. Most importantly, you're focused on finding solutions, building strong relationships and delivering work safely and efficiently.
We're particularly interested in candidates who bring:
- Experience delivering high-voltage transmission line projects, high-voltage substation projects, or a combination of both within a contractor environment. But, we are open to candidates with skills built up in adjacent industries.
- A trade qualification, engineering qualification or equivalent construction leadership experience.
- Demonstrated capability leading site-based teams, contractors and subcontractors on large infrastructure or utilities projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety, risk management, contractor management and project delivery disciplines.
- A practical, resilient and collaborative approach, with the ability to exercise sound judgement, challenge constructively and maintain focus under pressure.
- A current Australian Driver's Licence.
