About the Role

Yoobee College of Creative Innovation is looking for an experienced and passionate Diploma of Digital Media and Design (Level 6) Tutor to join our creative and dynamic team. If you have a strong background in graphic, motion, packaging, and experiential design—both for print and digital media—this is your opportunity to inspire the next generation of designers.

As a Tutor in our Diploma of Digital Media and Design (Level 6) programme, you will play a key role in shaping students' creative and technical skills. You’ll be responsible for:

  • Delivering engaging tutorials and workshops that align with industry trends.
  • Designing and developing course materials to ensure students receive a future-focused education.
  • Mentoring students in design processes, principles, and production techniques.
  • Assessing student progress through formative projects and summative assignments.
  • Collaborating with faculty and industry professionals to enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Staying informed about developments in the creative industry and integrating emerging trends into teaching.
  • Contributing to programme reviews and curriculum development.

 

About You

You are an experienced design professional with a passion for education and a strong understanding of:

  • Graphic design fundamentals, including layout design, motion graphics, packaging, and experiential design.
  • Branding and brand strategy.
  • Industry-standard design software and tools.
  • Design methodologies and pre-press production practices.
  • Knowledge of UI/UX design is a plus!

 

What You’ll Bring

  • A tertiary qualification in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field (minimum of Bachelor’s level is essential).
  • 2-3 years of industry experience in graphic/digital design or related fields (preferred).
  • Teaching or training experience in an academic or professional setting (highly desirable).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • A deep respect for cultural practices, tikanga, kawa, and te reo Māori.
  • A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
