About the role

We are looking for a Senior Lecturer to deliver the highest standards of teaching and research in business informatics, with a focus on Healthcare Informatics, by ensuring optimum learning environments for students enrolled in our Master of Business Informatics programme.

Teaching and research standards will be upheld by contributing to the ongoing maintenance and development of the Master of Business Informatics curriculum and by maintaining active engagement with cutting-edge research that results in peer-reviewed outputs.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading lectures, tutorials, and practical workshops that foster critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience.
  • Making sure study programmes are current, cutting-edge, and reflect a depth and breadth of disciplinary expertise. They should also be carefully validated through evidence-based quality assurance.
  • Designing and delivering appropriate student assessments and providing effective and timely feedback.
  • Contribute to the research and publication output of Yoobee College of Creative Innovation and the faculty through participation in appropriate research projects, either alone or as a part of the team
  • Contributing to the ongoing development of the curriculum to ensure its continued relevance and effectiveness.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to create a stimulating and supportive learning environment for students.

 

About you/Key Requirements

  • Hold (or currently pursuing) a PhD degree in Health Informatics, Biomedical Informatics, computer science with a focus on Health informatics, Data Science with applications in Healthcare, information Security with focus in Healthcare Data (or a closely aligned discipline) and have a demonstrated record of published research outputs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate and effectively communicate with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Understanding of student learning and effective teaching methods.
  • Knowledge of current trends and practices in the Healthcare Informatics field
  • Commitment to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community
  • Must have evidence of student project supervision with prior teaching/industry experience
  • Actively involved in research demonstrated by high-quality journals/conference papers
  • Active commitment to upholding the values, tikanga, kawa of cultural practice and traditions and valuing te reo Māori.
  • Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Effective networking skills to maintain links with current practice in the professional arena to provide opportunities for students
  • Experience of participating in innovative research programmes.
