Operational Director Aged Care

About the role:

Yarrawonga Health is seeking an experienced, dynamic Operational Director of Aged Care to support the executive leadership and management of the 86-bed residential aged care service. Yarrawonga Health Aged Care comprises three facilities supporting residential and respite care including a behaviour support unit for Residents with more complex care needs. 

Yarrawonga Health is a rural health service comprising residential aged care, acute care, peri operative services, community & primary care. The health service is located in the town of Yarrawonga and provides cross border health services to Yarrawonga, Mulwala and the surrounding communities. The incumbent of this role will be an experienced leader who understands contemporary aged care practice and standards compliance supporting high quality care and wellbeing. They will be an integral member of the executive team.

   

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a registered nurse
  • Minimum five years post graduate registered nurse with strong experience in the aged care setting
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience at a senior management level
  • Demonstrated understanding of aged care financial compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective operational leadership of complex multidisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated understanding of aged care standards compliance and experience in aged care accreditation assessment processes
  • High level verbal and written communication skills and the ability to engage with all groups of people and levels of staff 
  • Demonstrated experience in progressing new initiatives to improve processes and benefit the organisation and its consumers
  • Empathy and understanding of aged and vulnerable people and the complexities of transition to aged care.
