Your expertise will ensure that Yarrawonga Health continues to meet regulatory requirements and maintain high standards of patient data integrity.

Accurate coding of inpatient, outpatient, and day surgery records in line with national standards

Reviewing medical records to ensure completeness and clarity of documentation

Assisting with coding audits and quality improvement activities

Collaborating with clinical staff to resolve queries related to coding

Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies

About You:

We are looking for someone with:


Qualification in Clinical Coding or Health Information Management (e.g., Certificate IV in Clinical Classification or equivalent)

Experience with ICD-10-AM coding standards

Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and disease processes

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledge of healthcare funding models (e.g., DRGs) is advantageous

POSITION STATUS: Casual

CLASSIFICATION: Health Services Administration - HS1A

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated computer skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications with demonstrated ability to work to tight timelines and prioritise competing work demands.
  • Ability and preparedness to work in and contribute to a team environment
  • Previous Health Experience
  • Knowledge of organisation wide accreditation processes including the new National Standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise with all levels of staff and management.
