Yarrawonga Health is a reputable aged care provider dedicated to delivering exceptional services to our elderly residents. We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our team and contribute to the well-being and comfort of our residents.
As an Registered Nurse in our Aged Care facility Karana, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality nursing care to patients; residents and clients in Yarrawonga Health. Working closely with a team of healthcare professionals, you will be responsible for delivering person-centered care, administering medications, and supporting the overall well-being of our residents.
Working in Karana, you will utilise a person-centred care approach to the provision of the physical and emotional needs of residents/clients. You will participate in their total care and orientate to their individual needs to enable them to live a meaningful life and maintain their self-respect.
All clinical staff work all shifts across the 24 hour day and at 7 days of the week, inclusive of public holidays.
Situated on the heart of the Murray River, Yarrawonga Health provides acute, surgical, community and aged care support for the region. We're only a few hours from Melbourne and you'll be enjoying all the region has to offer - from wineries and snow fields to water and boating activities on the Murray River, you'll never be bored!
About the Role:
The Registered Nurse is a member of the multidisciplinary health care team, and uses contemporary standards and evidence to underpin practice. Being part of a multidisciplinary team, staff members will provide high quality nursing care for all patients/residents.
This position will provide a high quality and effective service of assessment, support, advice and referral to enhance health, safety and well-being through involvement with patients and their carers.
Yarrawonga Health's clinical staff function as part of the healthcare team, at times working across disciplines, promoting good communication and working relationships between all units.
We are a small rural hospital that functions as one team, clinical staff may be relocated to other areas within the service to assist at times of roster shortages.

Qualifications:
- Current Nursing Registration with Australian Health Practitioners Agency (AHPRA).
- Bachelor of Nursing or higher
Key Selection Criteria:
Essential:
- Achievement of competencies of an Registered Nurse in accordance with criteria as prescribed by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia;
- To have previous experience as a Registered Nurse, either in a generalist setting or that of a specialty.
- Demonstrate well-developed communication and interpersonal skills;
- Possess knowledge of relevant legislation, particularly the National Health Reform, National Standards and Aged Care Standards;
- Demonstrated ability to deliver of excellent clinical care standards
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to work independently of others;
- An ability to represent as a patient advocate;
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentially.
Desirable:
- Membership of relevant professional body.
- Minimum two years’ general Nursing experience, preferable in an Aged Care Setting
- Knowledge of and experience in quality improvement activities
