Yalagan Registered Training – RTO Code 91627 is an accredited indigenous owned and certified RTO with core delivery capacity in Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane, Perth, and Melbourne and a focus on Construction, Rail, and High-Risk work courses.

The Role

We are currently seeking a motivated and passionate Student Support Officer to join our team based at Botany to extend support to our students. The role is also pivotal in administering funded training contracts (e.g smart and skilled). Managing claims while ensuring compliance is met with the RTO Standards 2015 and the guidelines set by state governments is highly regarded.

The position is based at Botany NSW, and is a full-time, permanent role for five days per week, from Monday to Friday. Working hours are flexible and discussed with the candidate to ensure work life balance is attainable.

The Successful Candidate MUST have:

  • Previous experience within an RTO
  • Knowledge and understanding of the VET Sector and RTO Standards.
  • Strong working experience with a Student Management System (VETtrak, aXcelerate, EnquiryMate, etc..)
  • Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to be flexible and manage your time effectively
  • Attention to detail and commitment to providing quality in all work
  • Demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience working with an LMS
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to develop relationships with all clients & stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Bubbly and bright personality that can work in a multi-skilled and multicultural team.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of RII or TLI training package
  • Experience with EnquiryMate, aXcelerate, or VETtrak
  • Knowledge of Smart and Skilled and other state funding contracts.

Day to Day Responsibilities also include

  • Providing high quality student service
  • Support trainers and students onsite
  • Phone and email enquiry management ensuring a strong employer and student focus is maintained.
  • Phone & email contact with all students and clients to help them progress or answer enquiries
  • Record and maintain student records in the Student Management System
  • Monitor course progress and attendance monitoring, intervention and counselling
  • Be able to assist students to use LMS
  • Sourcing venues for training
