Our global team of over 5,200 dedicated mining professionals are supporting the industry to decarbonise mining operations in the accelerating green transition. Working collaboratively across borders and disciplines, you’ll join a leading team working on interesting and complex projects. We are experts in our field, and we are passionate about mining.

Our Mine Closure Team are searching for a Principal Mine Closure Specialist, to be based in Brisbane. This will include working closely with our multidisciplinary teams of scientists, engineers and closure planners to develop and deliver integrated mine closure solutions.

Our cutting edge and industry leading geomorphic mine landform design team are also headquartered within the Brisbane office, and together you’ll help us shape the future. We are changing the landscape, literally. This leadership role will grow our business in line with our business plan and strategy as a key member of the Mining Services business.

Key Duties and Responsibilities Will Include:

The role will comprise a combination of leadership, business development, client liaison and technical and project direction. If you are looking for an opportunity to be strategic, innovative and creative, whilst supported and surrounded by a highly regarded dedicated closure team then this role is for you. 

  • Contributing and implementing our Global and APAC mine closure strategy.
  • Providing robust technical input and direction, with a key focus on mine closure planning.
  • Providing Project Direction which includes overseeing and coordinating large, multi-disciplinary mine closure projects; and
  • Strengthen the market position by proactively seeking internal and external opportunities.

Skills And Qualifications

  • Appropriate qualifications with a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Science or equivalent, coupled with previous consulting experience will be highly regarded;
  • Substantial experience in mine rehabilitation and mine closure planning;
  • A proven track record in the delivery of large, multi-disciplinary projects on-time and on-budget; and
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with verbal and written communication skills.
