The Role

Our Strategic Advisory team spans all WSP in Australia’s business areas, providing strategic and technical advice including strategic asset management, process improvement, plant reliability, and maintenance tactical reviews.

As a key member of our team, you’ll lead the way in securing and delivering advisory projects for major mining clients. You will seamlessly integrate your technical Reliability Engineering expertise with your ability to connect with stakeholders, helping to shape asset management strategies that drive success. Your key areas of focus will be:

Business Development:

  • Secure mining client advisory work, with a focus on reliability engineering for key Mining industry companies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across teams to leverage their connections and effectively upsell advisory services.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with key clients to identify and win new project opportunities.

 Project Delivery

  • Assist in delivering advisory work for Mining clients
  • Provide support to WSP’s key Mining industry clients, managing the delivery of projects to ensure successful outcomes.

 Technical Expertise and Support

  • Act as the Reliability Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a range of WSP Client projects.
  • Actively deliver value to our Clients via hands-on support and coaching, and drive on-site improvements.

This role is based in Perth, Western Australia and will involve occasional travel to Client sites. WSP in Australia supports hybrid work arrangements.

About You

We are looking for a dynamic individual who has experience helping heavy industry improve their plant and productivity. You combine technical expertise with business acumen to make a significant impact to our Clients, our Advisory team, and the wider WSP business.

You will have:

  • A degree in Engineering or other similarly related reliability engineering credentials
  • Proven experience in reliability engineering, particularly in mining or asset-intensive heavy industry settings.
  • A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset with demonstrated success in business development or client relationship management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to balance technical and commercial priorities.
  • Expertise in collaborating on business projects and contributing as an SME in reliability engineering.
  • Flexibility and readiness to travel occasionally to meet client needs.
