About the role:
As a Cadet Mechanical Drafter, you will be a valued member of WSP in Australia's Adelaide-based Water Engineering team, contributing your drafting skills to a diverse portfolio of water engineering projects.
You will work with a talented team of experienced Mechanical Engineers and Designers who embrace WSP's commitment to nurturing and developing the next generation of diverse Changemakers through mentorship and structured development programs. In this role you will:
- Work within a multi-disciplined engineering team to deliver a range of mechanical and infrastructure engineering design projects
- Prepare drawings for issue
- Plan and manage own work to meet deadlines and budgets
- Learn to apply the relevant design guidelines and standards to drawings
- Provide input into proposals, demonstrating understanding of project needs in relation to design drafting.
About You:
- TAFE qualification Diploma in Engineering or equivalent, or working towards qualification
- Working knowledge of design packages such 12D and/or AutoCAD
- Intermediate to Strong skills in MS Office (MS Word and MS Excel)
- An enthusiasm to learn and develop in your career
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team environment
- Proven problem solving and time management skills
- Willingness to learn and take guidance from colleagues
