About the Role:
WSP, a global leader in delivering sustainable engineering solutions for Mission Critical Facilities, is seeking an experienced Associate or Associate Director with over 10 years of expertise in electrical design. This role is focused on electrical design for Data Centres.
In this senior position, you’ll take on a leadership role in the design of complex, multi-disciplinary projects, collaborating closely with internal experts and clients to deliver tailored electrical solutions. You'll shape innovative, future-ready designs while meeting operational efficiency, sustainability, and speed-to-market demands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical design on large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects, with a focus on Data Centres and Mission Critical Facilities.
- Develop electrical solutions that meet operational efficiency, sustainability, and speed-to-market demands.
- Coordinate electrical design with other building services disciplines, ensuring integration with mechanical, hydraulic, fire protection, and sustainable systems.
- Engage with clients to understand requirements and deliver tailored electrical design solutions.
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with hyperscale, colocation, technology, enterprise, and government clients.
- Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and fostering their development in electrical design.
- Represent WSP in local and regional markets, promoting our expertise in electrical design for Mission Critical facilities.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications and experience:
- Tertiary Qualification in Electrical Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in designing electrical systems for complex projects, with a focus on Mission Critical facilities like Data Centres.
- Expertise in designing electrical systems for large-scale, high-complexity projects.
- Experience coordinating electrical design with other disciplines, including Hydraulics, Fire Protection, and Sustainable Design.
- Deep knowledge of Australian building codes and standards.
- Registered or eligible for registration as a professional engineer with the relevant state authority.
- Strong focus on design excellence, with a passion for innovative solutions that meet technical and client requirements.
- Excellent communication skills for building client relationships and collaborating with stakeholders.
