About the Role:

Join WSP in Adelaide as a Principal Dam Engineer and lead our expert team in delivering high-impact dam projects. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the design, safety reviews, and remediation of dam infrastructure, driving innovative solutions that enhance site management and environmental protection.

About Us:

Our Geo-Environmental Engineering team excels in designing and constructing critical infrastructure with a focus on dams and related systems. We specialise in:

  • Designing and maintaining water dams, including new constructions, safety reviews, and upgrades
  • Developing containment and evaporation ponds for water, leachate, and brine
  • Implementing water and wastewater management systems
  • Constructing solid waste containment cells and groundwater cut-off barriers
  • Managing gas and vapor control systems
  • Planning and executing site closures, redevelopments, and remediation projects
  • Performing ancillary earthworks

We cater to clients across Water, Mining, Waste, Transport, and Construction sectors, providing comprehensive services from planning through to post-closure. Our team consists of geotechnical, environmental, and civil engineers, supported by CAD and drafting specialists, ensuring excellence throughout every project phase.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and manage complex dam projects, including design, safety assessments, and remediation efforts.
  • Develop and implement strategies to address dam-related challenges and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and high quality.
  • Foster and maintain strong client relationships, driving project success and business development.
  • Manage project delivery, mitigate risks, and ensure the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, supporting their professional development and growth.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and operational management for dam projects and related infrastructure.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineering with extensive experience in dam engineering.
  • Proven expertise in dam design, safety reviews, remediation, and related infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker, highly motivated, and committed to technical excellence and innovation.
