As a Senior Water Resource Engineer at WSP, you’ll lead the way in enhancing the capabilities and reputation of our Geo-Environment team. You’ll spearhead significant projects in civil, infrastructure, renewable energy, and mining sectors, with a focus on water resource management, flood resilience, and climate change adaptation. This role is open to candidates based in Melbourne, Brisbane, or Perth. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Drive the development and implementation of innovative, sustainable surface water management solutions. 
  • Lead complex geo-environmental engineering projects, with an emphasis on surface water assessments and designs across various sectors in Australia and internationally. 
  • Take charge of producing high-level technical documents and environmental assessments, ensuring technical excellence and innovation. 
  • Oversee project delivery, ensuring effective risk management and adherence to the highest quality standards. 
  • Mentor and guide a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative culture and shared project responsibilities. 
  • Build and maintain a strong reputation for delivering successful flood and drainage design projects using cutting-edge technologies. 

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Civil/Environmental Engineering, with postgraduate qualifications in water resource management. 
  • Professional accreditation such as CPEng and RPEQ (or equivalent) or willing to get the accreditation. 
  • Extensive experience in water resource engineering, with a strong track record of leading projects from start to finish. 
  • Proficiency in hydrology and hydraulic modelling software such as RORB, XPSTORM, TUFLOW, HEC-RAS and GIS programs. 
  • Drainage infrastructure sizing and design experience. 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with a proven ability to mentor and develop engineers at junior to mid levels.
