What You’ll Do:
As a Fire Protection Engineer (wet and dry fire designs), you will be part of a wider network of professional engineers working on both local and national projects. Specific activities will include, but are not limited to:
- Provide fire protection design expertise on both single and multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring compliance with technical, commercial, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Deliver best practices and outcomes for clients, effectively saving on costs and time while producing high-quality fire protection engineering design and documentation.
- Take the lead on small to medium-sized engineering design projects while supporting larger initiatives, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Communicate effectively with external stakeholders (clients, authorities) and internal teams (colleagues, managers) to ensure project success.
- Build solid client relationships and recognize business development opportunities, representing and promoting the business in local and regional markets.
- Mentor and support the development of junior engineers, contributing to the growth of the Property and Buildings group’s strategic goals.
About You:
- Bachelor of Engineering (e.g., Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent industry experience, with around 5 to 8+ years in Australian building services projects.
- High level of expertise in fire protection engineering and design documentation, along with thorough knowledge of relevant Standards and Codes (AS/NZS, NCC, etc.) for building services projects.
- Understanding of BIM, NavisWorks, and Revit MEP is highly desirable, with basic to intermediate REVIT skills preferred.
- Ideally, you have experience in a consulting engineering environment, though backgrounds in D&C contracting will also be considered. Holding a Degree in Engineering or Building Services is essential, and pursuing chartership is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 4 years working within the local building services sector, with a proven ability to manage medium and large complex projects, particularly in areas like transport infrastructure, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, data centres, large commercial projects, and world-class sporting arenas.
- We will consider applications from intermediate to senior level engineers.
