About the Role
The Sales Manager will lead the charge in shaping customer strategy, driving new sales growth, and expanding share of wallet with existing customers. Your leadership will be central to team success—overseeing account planning, business development, and performance management to ensure targets are met and exceeded. With a strong focus on sales excellence, you will foster relationships, optimize sales processes, and empower your team through training and development, creating a high-performing, results-driven environment.
What you’ll be doing
- Developing and executing customer strategy – Owning customer tiering, integrating it with broader company goals, and driving performance measures.
- Overseeing account planning and management – Identifying growth opportunities, assessing risks, setting KPIs, and allocating resources effectively.
- Generating business development opportunities – Pursuing new markets, fostering relationships, and maintaining a strong pipeline of qualified leads.
- Driving sales and cross-selling initiatives – Engaging account reps, understanding customer needs, securing deals, and negotiating contract terms.
- Conducting product demonstrations and training – Educating customers and employees on product features and best practices.
- Managing team development and performance – Leading sales training, optimizing processes, and ensuring governance through KPIs reporting.
- Budgeting and financial oversight – Managing sales expenses, setting financial targets, and ensuring profitability.
- Ensuring compliance and risk mitigation – Monitoring contract adherence, addressing escalations, and implementing preventative strategies.
- Optimizing sales processes and governance – Streamlining workflows, improving resource prioritization, and maintaining operational efficiency.
- Monitoring and reporting business performance – Tracking metrics, analysing trends, and adjusting strategies to align with company goals.

What we’re looking for
You will be highly commercial and possess strong communication skills to influence stakeholders at all levels. Along with your business acumen, you will have:
- Minimum 5 years in similar role
- Extensive and successful experience in sales management or major accounts management
- Business to Business or Business to Government selling and servicing.
- Experience in leading, motivating, coaching and performance managing, a team
- Tertiary qualified or equivalent formal studies in business, commerce or marketing related discipline
