About the Role
As the primary owner and decision-maker for the Hard Yakka brand range, you will oversee the development and management of apparel, accessories, and footwear for both domestic and international markets.
You will be accountable for the commercial performance of the product range, including setting and achieving sales targets, managing budgets, and optimizing profitability. Additionally, you will lead and support your team, engage with stakeholders through presentations, and identify opportunities for market growth.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop and implement product strategy, ensuring alignment with brand goals and market demands.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify trends and insights that will shape product development and positioning.
- Oversee the selection and management of the product range, making strategic decisions on product offerings and pricing to meet commercial targets.
- Collaborate with design and technical teams to ideate, develop, and launch new products, ensuring they meet market needs and commercial viability.
- Manage the entire product lifecycle from conception to end-of-life, ensuring products remain competitive and meet customer expectations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop team members, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Continuously assess and respond to customer and market needs, adjusting strategies and product offerings accordingly.
- Track and analyze the commercial performance of products, making data-driven decisions to optimize profitability and market share.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including marketing, sales, and supply chain teams, to ensure cohesive brand and product strategies.
- Act as the primary point of contact for resolving issues and escalations, providing solutions and guidance to the team.

What we’re looking for
You will be highly commercial and possess strong communication skills to influence stakeholders at all levels. Along with your business acumen, you will have:
- 5+ years experience in a similar position
- Broad merchandise management experience with a strong financial and commercial focus
- Managed a portfolio of products and analyse performance
- Financial acumen and experience with international teams (AUS/NZ)
- Background in industrial brands and ranges; experience in clothing or footwear is beneficial
- Change management skills and high collaboration with sales, design, and marketing teams
- Strong influencing skills and experience with product and buyer growth
